The 2005 Spring Fling at King was a success due to descent weather and the number of participants. Over 30 pilots signed up with more than 40 BBQ tickets sold. Pilots flew XC for an accumulative total of more than 350 miles. The winner in the overall XC category was Paul Allen with a 59 miler from Big Southern. Pilots flew everyday with Monday being the best XC day overall. Great it was just ask Frank & Clair about their adventure. Ask me too one day next time we see one another.

The dinner was second to none with all you can eat steak plus buffet including four different desserts. Also a new campground was introduced to pilots which seemed big hit since it was on the new river. No pilots stayed in the park. The park is still open for this years visiting pilots and it includes a new restroom.

With Boyd's closed and the Co-op having limited inventory several folks had to go to Arco for supplies, so stock up before you arrive in Moore or on the way through Arco or on one of your XC return trips through a town.

Pilots are now focusing on the King Meet it seems, calling about drivers, hotel rooms (Lazy A is closed too), and Wills Wing plans on bringing a large supply of new gliders again this year. We hope to see everyone at the King Meet so make plans to be there on what looks like the BEST King Meet ever, thanks to Lisa's efforts!!!

Fly safe, fly far and have fun!
